Full Contest Rules and Regulations: "Cover Direct Annual Promotion"

  1. CONTEST PERIOD: The “Cover Direct Annual Promotion” (“Contest”) commences at 9:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) on May 15, 2007, and concludes at office or store closing time on February 29, 2008(the “Contest Period”). The Contest is brought to you by Cover Direct Media Inc. (the “Contest Sponsor”).
  2. HOW TO ENTER AND PLAY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: No purchase is required to enter this Contest. Entry ballots will be mailed to approximately 125,000 Cover Direct customers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, will be available at the PostNet store at 103-325 Max Becker Dr., Kitchener, Ontario, and will also be available at participating business locations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. To enter, p lace the six (6) statements in a numerical order of your choice by placing the numbers one (1) through six (6) in the boxes directly to the left of each statement listed on the entry ballot in an attempt to match the winning numerical order. Complete the required information on the entry ballot in the spaces provided, as well as the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question, then: i) deposit the entry ballot in the ballot box at the PostNet store at 103-325 Max Becker Dr., Kitchener, Ontario; ii) mail the entry ballot to PostNet, 103-325 Max Becker Dr., Kitchener, Ontario, N2E 4H5; OR iii) deposit the entry ballot in a ballot box at participating business locations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their entry ballot is received no later than the time of office or store closing on February 29, 2008. No limit to number of entries per person per day. Entries will not be eligible if sent by any method not specified above or if received after the conclusion of the Contest Period.

    4. (1) Grand Prize: There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won, consisting of twenty thousand Canadian Dollars ($20,000.00 CAD), payable by cheque.

    Prize will be delivered to confirmed winner within eight (8) weeks of being declared a winner.
    Limit: Only one prize per person. In the event that no selected entrant fulfills all Contest requirements, then no prize shall be awarded.

  4. RANDOM DRAW: On April 30, 2008, a random draw will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba; the winning statement order will be randomly drawn (electronically) at this time, immediately prior to the draw to select a potential winning entry. One (1) entry will then be randomly drawn from among all eligible entries received. The odds of your entry being drawn depend on the total number of entries received. The official Contest judges will then determine if the entry drawn is a potential winner of the Grand Prize as follows: If the entry ballot drawn exactly matches the randomly selected winning numerical order of six (6) statements, the contestant will be eligible to win the Grand Prize, subject to verification. The odds of correctly placing all of the six (6) statements in the winning numerical order are 1 in 720.
  5. The Contest Sponsor or its agent must be able to reach the potential winner by telephone within five (5) business days of the date on which the potential winner’s entry was selected. Entrants will not be individually contacted, except for the selected entrant or declared winner, who will be contacted by telephone. In order to be declared a winner by the Contest judges, a potential winner (or parent/ legal guardian, as applicable) must: (a) be in compliance with these official Contest Rules and Regulations; (b) have correctly answered, without mechanical aid or assistance, the mathematical skill testing question on the ballot; and (c) complete, sign and return a standard form declaration and release prepared by the Contest Sponsor within fourteen (14) business days from the date on which the form is sent to the potential winner. If a potential or declared winner is not in compliance with these official Contest Rules and Regulations, the Contest judges reserve the right to disqualify such entrant from the Contest.
  6. PUBLICITY: Declared winner consents to the Contest Sponsors’ use of his/her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, statement and image for any publicity or programming purposes, in all media, without remuneration, throughout the world in perpetuity. The winner agrees to have his/her photograph taken by the Contest Sponsor, which all right in such photograph shall belong to the Contest Sponsor.
  7. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), who are thirteen (13) years of age or older as of the first day of the Contest Period. Notwithstanding the above, the Contest is not open to individuals associated with the Contest, including the employees, agents or representatives of the Contest Sponsor (including their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising or promotional agencies) and suppliers providing prizes or other materials or services in connection with this Contest (collectively, the “Excluded Individuals”).  

    8. GENERAL

  8. By entering this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Contest Rules and Regulations and by the decisions of the Contest judges, which shall be final and binding in all matters. In the event of a conflict between these Contest Rules and Contest information contained in point of sale, television and print, advertising, promotional packaging and other promotional materials or sources, these Contest Rules shall prevail.
  9. All entries become the sole property of, and are subject to verification by, the Contest Sponsor and in no case shall be returned to sender. No copies, facsimiles or reproductions of entry forms will be accepted.
  10. Any attempt to tamper with the entry process, interfere with these official Contest Rules and Regulations, deliberately damage or undermine the administration, security or legitimate operation of the Contest, is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and/or other relief from all persons responsible for such acts to the fullest extent permitted by law, which may include banning or disqualifying entrants from this and future contests.
  11. The Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for: entries that are lost, stolen, late, delayed, damaged, altered, mutilated, illegible, incomplete or misdirected; or any problems, congestion or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, or entrant’s change in telephone number.
  12. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or substitute any prize or any component of a prize for a prize of approximately the same retail value. Prize is non-transferable, must be accepted as awarded by the Contest Sponsor and cannot be exchanged by a declared winner for other substitutes. The refusal by an entrant to accept any prize, releases and forever discharges the Contest Sponsor and its agents of all obligations related to the prize including delivery. In no event shall the Contest Sponsor be liable for more than the number of stated number of prizes stipulated in rule number 3.
  13. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to amend, cancel, close, suspend or reinstate this Contest (or any elements of a prize) at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
  14. Potential winner may be required to furnish proof of identification such as a driver’s license or social security number. A prize won by a minor will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian.
  15. If the potential winner for the Grand Prize fails to meet the other necessary criteria set forth in these rules, such as cannot be reached within five (5) business days of the draw, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, refuses to sign/fails to return the release of liability and acknowledgement form within fourteen (14) business days of the date on the letter of notification or as specified by Contest Sponsor, he or she will be deemed to have forfeited the opportunity to win; and no alternate entrant will be selected.
  16. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to abide by these official Contest Rules and Regulations, which are subject to change without notice to Contest entrants individually, and each entrant releases the Contest Sponsor, its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents and advertising and promotional agencies, from any damage, loss or liability suffered, including personal injury, death or property damage, as a result of or arising from the entrant’s participation in the Contest or the use of a prize.
  17. The Contest and these official Contest Rules and Regulations shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario.Any dispute shall be adjudicated in the courts sitting in Ontario.
  18. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Contest Rules and Regulations shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise enforceable or illegal, these Official Contest Rules and Regulations shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
  19. Personal information collected from entrants will be used by the Contest Sponsor for the purpose of administering this Contest.
Cover Direct Media Inc. agrees to exchange the $20,000.00 prize with a contest winner for a new 2007 Mini or the trip for four to Hawaii it the winner chooses.
